Sometimes it's better to sip your chocolate fix…
Peppermint Hot Chocolate
- ¾ cup milk
- 1 oz chocolate (semisweet or bittersweet), chopped
- peppermint Schnapps
- whipped cream
Heat milk over low to moderate heat. Whisk in the chocolate until melted, stirring constantly to prevent burning the chocolate onto the bottom of your pan. Once chocolate is melted, heat to desired temperatute. Don't let it boil, and whisk frequently to prevent a skin from forming on top.
Pour into mug. Add peppermint schnapps as desired (1 oz is my preference). Top with whipped cream (or not).
Curl up with good book and enjoy!
